Pat Boland 1938-2023 (85 yo)

It is with the utmost sadness that the family of Pat Boland announce his passing on September 20, 2023.

Pat was the second youngest of five boys born and raised in Fort Francis, ON. When he was a young man, he joined the Canadian Air Force during which service he survived a fatal plane crash. Later he was stationed in Duluth, MN where he met and married his love Nancy Noonan. They soon began a family, welcoming baby boy Bill and eleven short months later, baby girl Kelly. They were moved around a bit, being posted to North Bay, Moosonee, and Alsask. Wanting a bit more stability for his family, Pat received an offer from the PA Penitentiary for work as a guard after retiring from the Air Force. The final move to Prince Albert was made and they could all settle into a steady routine.

While guard duty kept him busy at work, Pat grew an avid appreciation for raising German Shepherds. After retiring from the Penn, he became interested and passionate about shooting. Be it paintball, cowboy shooting, IPSC… if it involved a target and you could shoot at it, it was fun.

Once his wife Nancy retired, Pat was told he was now interested in taking up golf, much to his surprise. But being so easy going, Pat just went with it. It was as if they were two sides of a coin… Pat was up for anything, and Nancy decided everything! Sadly, Nancy succumbed to cancer in 2008. Pat was diagnosed with Dementia at 83 years of age. In typical Pat style he took it with his usual humor and determined he would stay in the home he had shared with wife Nancy for so many years for as long as he could.

In August Pat came down with Covid, and while his infection did pass, the toll on his body was visible. He passed peacefully in his sleep, which daughter Kelly was thankful for. Kelly and Kevin would like to express their sincere gratitude to Eldon Laird and family for all their help during the most difficult of times.

Pat is survived by; his daughter Kelly (Kevin) Carlin; his grandson, Nathaniel; his younger brother, Larry Boland, and family; his sisters- in- law, Barbara Ostlund and Geraldine Kallio and families.  He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, his son Bill and several other family members.

In keeping with Pat’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com   Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.

Pat last played paintball at 77 years old, and loved to play hardcore, maybe a name or two on the special paintballs for them.  lol

Wyett Wade Meyers was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world suddenly on August 19th, 2021 at age 63 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Born May 5th, 1958 to Jim and Ethel Meyers, Wyett was raised in Meath Park with his brother Dewell. As a young man Wyett worked cutting trees in the bush near Prince Albert and in his early adult life found himself working for Suncore in Fort MacMurray, Alberta. He was ultimately drawn back to Meath Park to join his father in the family business, Meyers Seeds. He enjoyed researching and spent many hours searching out answers to different problems or finding solutions for others. He was aspiring to find a way to share his algorithm with others and teach them how to use it.

Wyett was always a generous person, treating people to lunch or tipping well. He was a long-standing member of the Prince Albert Optimists. Wyett could often be found at the casino winning money on his “lucky days” or out at Paintball Paradise helping his best friend and business partner George Lewko as a ref or directing traffic for the Corn Maze.

Wyett met his wife Janelle (nee Gobeil) in 2004 and they were married in 2014 at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. He loved travelling to Las Vegas and made his way there numerous times. She is left to cherish Wyett’s memory along with his brother Dewell (Shannon), nieces Dee (John) Cameron and McKay, Shea (Kirk) Pilon, in-laws Guy and Irene Gobeil, Gaetan (Kim) Gobeil, Myley and Kohen, Ashley (Matthew) Beaulieu, Graydon and Saydee, Jesse Gobeil and Alana with his partner Nikki and family, and Grandma Prefontaine.
